Switching from Hospitable: what changes

If you're already on Hospitable and you've decided to move, here's what the migration actually involves.

Connect Smoobu first. You need a Smoobu account because Smoobu is the channel manager Virtual Host AI plugs into. If you don't already use Smoobu, you'll trial it (€23.20/month per apartment, 14-day free) alongside Hospitable for one cycle before cutting over.
Import your guest guide. Paste your Hospitable saved replies into Virtual Host AI's structured guide editor or use Smart Import — the AI parses the freeform text into the typed fields itself.
Set the handover date. Pick a date after which Hospitable's automation stops responding (their setting) and Virtual Host AI takes over. We recommend a 48-hour overlap so any in-flight conversations don't get double-replied.
Enable autopilot per apartment. Each apartment has its own toggle. Start with one apartment for a week, watch the Telegram escalations, then enable the rest.
Cancel Hospitable. They prorate. You keep your message history exported as a JSON file if you ever want to verify a past conversation.

When to choose which

Pick Virtual Host AI if…

You use Smoobu as your channel manager — Hospitable does not integrate with Smoobu, so they will always read your Airbnb + Booking.com inboxes through their own connector instead of your existing one.

You operate outside the DACH region and don't need Wien Ortstaxe or §5 Meldegesetz reporting.
You want a direct-booking website builder bundled into the same product.
You want native iOS / Android apps your team can install instead of a mobile-first PWA.
You have a working integration with Hospitable and the cost of switching outweighs the feature gap. Don't switch for the sake of switching.
